At The Dance Room, our mission is to inspire and empower couples and individual dancers through the art of Ballroom and Latin dance. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment where dancers of all levels can explore their passion, improve their skills, and express themselves creatively. Our expert instructors have a wealth of knowledge, and are excited to share the love of dancing with you, no matter your skill level. We provide a fun yet engaging instruction environment where dancers are excited to learn, challenge themselves, and improve their abilities and confidence.
Meet The Team
Ilya Reyzin
Owner/Lead Instructor
Ilya Reyzin is a former United States 9 Dance Professional Champion, 5 times World Professional American Rhythm Finalist, 2 x North American Professional American Rhythm Champion, Championship Level Adjudicator and well known choreographer and American Rhythm specialist. Ilya has been in the industry over thirty years and is a nationally renowned judge and coach for studios all across America. Ilya was born in Moscow, Russia and has lived in the United states for 35 years. He is excited to make Sarasota his home, and to pour his heart and soul into a studio that will bring excellence and high quality to the surrounding dance community.
Anna Melnyk
Dance Instructor
Anna Melnyk, born on June 24, 1984, began dancing at age 10 and partnered with Roman Melnyk in 1998. Together, they achieved success as two-time vice-champions of Ukraine, Youth Cup winners, and silver medalists in the 2011 Professional Cup of Ukraine. Anna started teaching at 15 and opened her own studio in Sumy, Ukraine, in 2007, where she trained national competition winners and founded the "Glory to Ukraine" competition. Anna is a seasoned International Latin Dance Professional. Anna has studied many forms of dance, and is thrilled to share her knowledge and expertise to The Dance Room student body.
Marina Kensinger
Office Manager
Marina comes to us with vast experience in several fields. She has studied both International styles in Germany, competed with a partner and in formation teams, and subsequently taught ballroom dancing at a studio in Germany. After the military, Marina moved to the U.S. and worked as a dance instructor in several chain and independent dance studios. Also fun fact - if you are a bachata enthusiast, her daughter is La Alemana - Tanja Kensinger.
